Kolbermoor Gang

Record-breaking efficiency with brine/water heat pump

In Kolbermoor, an architecturally appealing, economical and cosy building that is as climate-neutral as possible was to be built as the new headquarters of Chini & Company GmbH.
All familiar, established planning concepts were scrutinised for this project in order to break new ground.

The challenge was to combine modern building architecture with sophisticated and complex building technology. The specifications of the Building Energy Act (GEG) were not only to be adhered to, but where possible undercut.
The SI 50-TUR was the right solution here, as it avoids unnecessary complexity and minimises the space required for the heating technology. The heating/cooling system now achieves a PER of 6.62!

Project facts

  • Project type: Company headquarters, new build (incl. heating system)

  • Year of construction: 2021

  • Heat pump: Brine/water heat pump

  • Annual energy cost savings: approx. 3,000€

  • Heat transfer: Heating/cooling ceiling

The specific objectives for the areas of heating, cooling, ventilation and energy production were the economic viability of the system and the greatest possible efficiency. In addition, comfort for the users was a particularly high priority. Even in hot periods, a pleasant room temperature of < 26°C is achieved.

The solution

Installation and operating mode

A brine/water heat pump with a heating capacity of 52 kW was installed. Heat is transferred via heating/cooling ceilings in the building and a decentralised hot water system was installed.

Savings

According to its own projections, the company will have annual energy cost savings of around €3,000.
The total costs for heating and cooling per year amount to approx. 3,500€ (12500 kwh/1350 m2).
