Dimplex Smart Climate System for Remote Control of the Electric Heating Via App

The Dimplex Smart Home electric heating system “Smart Climate System” was developed by Dimplex to operate electric heating systems as comfortably as possible by optimally adjusting radiators, underfloor heating and infrared panels and operating them together.

The DIMPLEX Smart Climate System can be controlled on the go using a smartphone, tablet or even a desktop computer.

Electric Heating: Ideal for the Smart Home

Electrical energy is particularly valuable. It is therefore important to use electricity as efficiently as possible, especially for heating. The big advantage of direct heating systems powered by electricity, such as infrared panels or electric underfloor heating, is that they can be regulated very quickly and precisely. And the Dimplex Smart Climate System uses this advantage to heat economically and comfortably.

Like every smart home heating system, the smart climate system also consists of the typical smart home components: sensors record data and forward it via a hub to the Dimplex Easy Control app and are evaluated there. Based on this data and the user's specifications, the heat generator's intelligent controllers control the heating and thus ensure comfortable, needs-based and economical heat.

Experts understand the term smart home to be a building in which the building technology is intelligently networked with one another. There is particular savings potential for heating. With well-thought-out building automation in the heating area, comfortable temperatures can be achieved and energy can be saved at the same time.

Smart Home means digitally mapping, controlling and optimizing important processes in the house. In order to operate a house intelligently, the following smart home devices are necessary:

Control Via App, Via Smartphone or Tablet

The Smart Home Hub also establishes a connection to the Internet via WLAN or LAN, thus opening up the possibility of remotely controlling the Smart Home from any location.

Sensors

They record the current condition in the building. You measure e.g. B. temperatures, convert this data into electrical signals and transmit them to the hub. By the way: switches can also be sensors! Using the Smart Climate Switch, the user can e.g. B. tell whether he is leaving the house or going to bed.

Hubs and Control Panels

They are the central control units in the smart home. This is where all the information from the sensors comes together. Intelligent computer chips in the hubs themselves or smartphone apps with appropriate algorithms evaluate the data, derive control commands using complex calculation models and pass them on to the networked devices. The connection to the networked devices can be established via cable, WLAN or radio.

Actuators or Electronically Controlled Controllers

The control commands that are forwarded from the hub to the networked devices execute the so-called actuators or electronic controllers. The latter can be digital control boards that regulate the heat in an electric convector or infrared panels. Actuators, on the other hand, are small motors, e.g. B. to open or close roller shutters or windows. Radiator valves in hydraulic heating systems are also opened or closed as required using such motors.

The Components of the Smart Climate System

Intelligent Control with Hub and Smartphone App

The heart of the Smart Climate System is the Smart Climate Hub. The controls and thermostats of all installed devices are connected to each other and regulated using intelligent algorithms. Up to 500 individual devices can be managed per hub!

Energy Control App

All devices can be easily and conveniently regulated via the Energy Control app. The app connects to the HUB via the Internet. This means that the temperatures for each room can be set quickly and easily on a mobile phone or tablet from anywhere in the world. The Dimplex Energy Control app combines all the important control options as part of a weekly program in a clear user interface:

The freely adjustable individual comfort temperature

An outside temperature to protect against frost.

This makes it possible to always maintain a pleasant room temperature - and with the lowest power consumption.

No complex programming. Commissioning in just a few steps: plug in, switch on, done. Just plug & heat.
Our switches are also battery-operated and automatically connect to the Smart Climate Hub via radio! This means there is no need to lay cables! By the way: Thanks to the low power consumption, the batteries last for years.
